Puff the ugly booze face
My en-em-yyyyy
Frolicks in my new crows’ feet
Making me look fifty-three
When my skin’s like paper
I’ll blame that rascal puff
And go all Mary Rambin-like
And use that botox stuff

We'll get to the Birthday-Bash-Your-Head-In momentarily, but first:
The only thing I feel like covering from my time away...

So the next time I hear from JA it's this...
Trainwrecks reposted an entry, you can view it on TW's page here: http://trainwrecks.tumblr.com/post/78145368/juliaallison-front-row-at-bcbg-spot-the
I replied to TW's repost here:
http://theressomethingaboutmary.tumblr.com/post/78153318/trainwrecks-juliaallison-front-row-at-bcbg
I then get this email:

But she seemed so SUPPORTIVE in her IMs with me?? And remember, as long as it isn't PHYSICALLY hurting someone she doesn't care! That's why of course I got this email from her. In case it's hard to see:
Wait, I'm the one being obnoxious? Rude? LMAO, well maybe but... again. Pot. Kettle. etc. Fuck, at least I admit it when I'm being a bitch. My reply:

Katrina Kay is her real name. We know each other personally, as in, I have her number saved in my phone, which she typed in, with the name "Katrina Kay."
Stop being so goddamn rude, though.
It's really obnoxious.
Wait, I'm the one being obnoxious? Rude? LMAO, well maybe but... again. Pot. Kettle. etc. Fuck, at least I admit it when I'm being a bitch. My reply:
I wonder if you also emailed "trainwrecks" since that is the individual who initially commented on the name issue?
Since she doesn't professionally go by that name and has not acted under that name whatsoever (though IMDB does list Katie Bowden as an AKA... no Katrina Kay) are you that surprised that it might be pointed out by us lesser people who don't have her number in our phones?
What is obnoxious is that you have twice called me obnoxious. Though I have given you constructive criticism I haven't thrown those kinds of words your way. Mary's, but not yours. It's almost like you want me to hate you or something.
I would think that with your resume you would understand just how personal this reblogging shit ISN'T. It is... but it isn't. And when one goes away, somewhere else another comes along to take their place. It's all part of it.
So stop being so goddamn rude.
PS: Thanks though, for the motivation. After pulling an all nighter working on Life On Blast I was about to nap for a few hours and this email from you has inspired a fresh pot of coffee.
So I have been meaning to get around to posting more from the IM chat I had with Julia. Considering how many other things I am juggling I think it's a miracle I am able to post as much as I do. Your patience deserves reward. The conversation began at 10:34am (Los Angeles time). It ended at 2:19pm. Almost four hours. So there is no way I can post it all. The highlights will have to do.

Genuine? I doubt it. About 20+ minutes pass.

Within minutes, "blerg" is said.

Keep in mind, she says she has a 3pm meeting. At this point it's almost 11:30am my time, so that's 2:30pm on the east coast. Lie #1: If she had a 3pm meeting how is it she managed to stay in IM with me for about 3+ more hours? I am intentionally being vague about "what I do", by the way. Why would I dish that out the gate?

Lie #2: Julia has obviously been quite the heavy reader of TSAM.
Then there's this part. Julia calling me obnoxious? Pot... meet kettle. No I didn't make the Google thing up. Are you kidding me?

She supports it? We'll see. Also, if that's how you really feel about things, well the "anonybloggers" aren't physically hurting anyone and you sure seemed to take issue. (Lie #3 not including the Google lies.)

I now lose even more respect for her. I mean, to her I'm just this bitch on the internet shit talking her "BFF" slash "sister" on a daily basis. And here she is kind of rolling with it. Turn the tables and there's no WAY I'd be haha-ing about it all with the damn bitch. Would you?

No I do not want to help you, nor am I interviewing to be a contributor toBS NS. You wanted to talk, we're talking. And I've already gone from defending you to tasting my lunch. I go on to give her a bit about my background professionally, since she asked.

Give her acookie cupcake. Please note: she brought up her weight, not me.

At this point, I would be SO gone. You can't talk about my friends like that! But that's me.

Well now I'm just digging. Plus, inquiring minds want to know.

Was that a dig at Meghan?

Classic.
I can't anymore. I just can't.

Julia’s IP address taken from her last email to me and checked against the last few emails sent to me.
* This obviously was posted to show that the post that came after this really was Julia’s IP address. *rolls eyes*
Woah. Julia has been here 364 times? I mean, I don’t even think I go to NonSociety that many times myself. The Tumblr dashboard keeps me in the loop just fine, much better than her malfunctioning website.
Did she make sure Karp knows I’m next yet?
Because I work through my exhaustion. You should try it, Jules.
Dear Julia,
Tip #854958394: never underestimate the intelligence of a stranger.

Dear Julia,
Tip #854958394: never underestimate the intelligence of a stranger.
xo
SM
SM: as far as you, and your image... no one understood it but i kind of defended you until the google thing
JA: there was no google thing
seriously
SM: that was really disappointing on so many levels
JA: dude, I am not joking.
there was no google thing. I don't know where you got that idea, honestly!!
SM: that is a classic cheat method
and how could a spammer do that?
JA: huh?
We had - stupidly - open posting allowed.
SM: and why did mary delete her post addressing it?
JA: people spammed our question of the day and advice box with credit ratings links
we deleted them
I asked her to.
SM: said your programmer would make a statement and that never came
JA: wasn't relevant to our lifecast
Listen, I am many things, but dishonest is not one of them
plus, I don't care enough about our rank
SM: i have never heard of spam that can access your html code to embed keywords that happen to bring you to the #1 position when those words are googled
JA: huh? dude, it doesn't have "access to our code" - when you respond to a question of the day, it becomes part of the site
SM: true
but how would that benefit a spammer?
it was invisible
JA: It's not invisible ... I don't really know what to say. It's not really important for us to be #1 when you search for credit scores. I can't even believe I've spent 15 minutes talking about this.
if you knew our programmers, you would laugh hysterically at the though.
thought
SM: we don't have to dig into that further, it's just something that impacted me re: how i personally perceive you, for whatever that one opinion is worth
JA: except that you're literally making stuff up
I don't know what to say
SM: what did i make up?
JA: it's really obnoxious, actually. and I have a high threshold.
If I say something, then that is the case.
I don't lie.
I just don't.
I don't know what to tell you
SM: ok
JA: there's no fucking point for us to do that. YOU THINK WE HAVE TIME!??!?!?!
SM: well i am not trying to just sit here and make things up off the top of my head
JA: that's the thing that drives me the MOST crazy
it's like, I BARELY HAVE TIME TO FREAKING SLEEP
Let alone think of some retarded scheme to get us on the top of some stupid google search
you know?
that's what kills me
the other thing that kills me is when people accuse me of writing letters to myself.
like, WHEN WOULD I DO THAT?!?!?
WHEN WOULD I HAVE THE TIME TO DO THAT/!?!?!
sorry.
ranting.
SM: ok like... when i asked you about the dyke comment and you said you used to be so PC and then you got lax because you assumed people know that you are liberal
i get that
but at the same time... when people visit your site, they dont know you personally
JA: I know.
SM: so they DONT just know that
JA: it's a problem.
SM: its the same kind of thing
JA: I talk to readers like they're my friends.
but ... they're not.
SM: you could be just as honest as any of my best friends
JA: It's an issue.
SM: but its the way things are APPEARING that is the issue
JA: we actually talked about this - perception vs. reality
it's a huge issue on the internet
obviously
because the reality is, I'm more honest and upstanding now than I ever was when I was younger.
but I'm held to this retarded standard
Like, WHAT IF I WANTED TO SLEEP AROUND!?!?!
SM: i mean in my opinion what is causing this for you guys is the accumulation of the "little things"... adds up to something not pretty
JA: that's my prerogative! and yet. it's not anymore ...
nah, everyone has little things. you'll never run a company without little things.

A MUST SEE remix of the tutu kind.

That’s actually the very gorgeous Djimon Hounsou, but all black people, like, look alike. Like, amirite?
Julia: Why not acknowledge the mistake and thank the reader who corrected you? Kind of “obnoxious”, I think, not to.
OVERWHELMING RESPONSE TO 1.5:
This one reblog, and one other from Meghan: That's. All. Folks.
meadolus:

Thank you, Julia Allison, for boldly leading us into the touch-screen future. Your noble vision is an example to innovators around the world … or it would be, if your hideously designed trainwreck of a site ACTUALLY WORKED on the Iphone. FAIL.COM!!!
This post is vintage Julia - some drivel childishly intended to fool the reader into thinking the author is knowledgeable, backed up by absolutely nothing. It’s not vaporware, it’s vapidware. Testing the site is something for the little people to do (when they’re not hustling for free headbands), Julia’s busy envisioning the future of “information architecture”.
The real tragedy in this story is the fate of the poor web developer who was forced to implement this FAIL. Imagine the conference calls with Julia’s braying midwestern voice (punctuated by thought-free squeaks from Meghan) directing the developer “once more into the breach” of a horizontally scrolling design. You almost feel like the resulting pages are an attempt to bring the “company” down from within. If that’s the case, congratulations anonymous sir (or madam), you’ve constructed a webpage of shiteous distinction. I salute your passive-aggressive blow against the vanity-industrial complex.

"A fake Goyard weekender you treat like shit is hilarious. A fake monogram Dooney & Bourke you carry with pride is a hate crime."
Obviously I agree. Someone should ask Donna Karan what she thinks.
(via maryrambin)
Someone should ask Donna Karan? Are you still implying this well established designer stole “your” design. A design you admit wasn’t even yours to begin with?
For those of you who question my ill feelings towards this poser… start with this.
Julia Hated This Dress Head To Toe from Mary Rambin on Vimeo.
maryrambin:
“If by different you mean hideous.” — Julia Allison on this dress.
After searching through my limited traveler’s wardrobe tonight, I couldn’t find a thing to wear (go figure). So…I went over to the Vivienne Westwood clothes I pulled for TMI and grabbed the only thing that remotely said winter - the dress Julia HATED! And hated me for choosing for her to wear.
Well, I made it work with my go-to accessories. Watch the video. Not my favorite dress, but it saved my night. This iteration isn’t more Julia either. Admittedly, a bad call for Jules on my part, but like I said, I can’t be right all the time. Let’s throw in one more cliche. Hindsight is 20/20.
This is amazing. Mary is going to work this one to death. Drag it out, hun it’s good for business.
Dark tights and boots with that? Double fail.

FEB2009
The girls decided to try to raise some money for a good cause: and this is a good thing! I won’t hate on that…
What’s funny to me is that when brainstorming ways to do that, they come up with a watered down version of whoring themselves. Just another day at the office.
maryrambin:
DONATE AND DATE!
To participate, the girls and I are attending the event and offering a night out on in the Big Apple. No, this is not a new ploy we’ve thought of to look for love. We would love to spend time with one of our generous readers (man or woman) who wants to spread their wealth to the world.
Click here to bid. We promise a night to remember! And if we raise over $500, I’ll wear tutu. That should be a sight to see.
meghanasha:
If we raise over $1000, all three of us will wear tutus!
juliaallison:
And if we raise $2000, I’ll kiss you on the mouth while wearing a tutu!! Woooooo. No tongue though. That’s for $5000.
